Confetti Sunstone Necklace
Featuring a gorgeous confetti sunstone necklace. The stone has glorious speckles of colour. This beauty is bezel set in recycled fine and layered sterling silver, hand stamped, oxidised and polished to a rustic patina. The pendant hangs from a lightly oxidised sterling silver 16” chain and fastens at the front with a hand forged hook.
The base colour is usually warm orange, peach, reddish-brown or yellow, and it is translucent to semi-transparent. Inside, there are countless tiny, flat, flake-like inclusions of minerals such as hematite, goethite or copper. These inclusions are randomly distributed, showing bright flashes of gold, red, green, blue and other colours when exposed to light, creating a lively "confetti" effect, which is scientifically called aventurescence or schiller effect.
The stone measures 20mm x 15mm approximately. The pendant is 30mm x 22mm approximately.

I bought this necklace as gift to myself for my upcoming birthday which is on June 9th ordered early to make sure it would get here on time but also to make sure it didn't go out of stock. So glad I did! The necklace came quick (I live in the US) and decided to take a peak to make sure it wasn't broken. It wasn't but it's so beautiful I broke my rule that I would officially open and wear the necklace on my birthday...I have been wearing it everyday:)

Very pretty boulder opal ring - it does remind me of the night sky. I can see that I will have to be careful with the setting as it is easy to catch the 'prongs' in certain materials, but I was aware of this when I purchased. Certainly recommend.
